Pokemon fangames often iterate on the classic series in interesting ways, by adding new types or enforcing Nuzlocke rules. However, few are as innovative as PokeWilds. Don’t let the 20-year-old graphics fool you, PokeWilds has plenty of ideas that are ahead of its time, especially for the Pokemon series. With camping returning in Scarlet & Violet, it seems only natural that full base building will be on its way in a decade or so. PokeWilds also shows that the main series doesn’t need to keep marginally improving its graphics each time around: interesting mechanics and a good story will carry a game far. I’d still love to see Pokemon embrace an HD 2D style, and if it can take some inspiration from fangames like PokeWilds while it’s there, I’ll go all-in.

Shane Satterfield of GameSpot, who mentioned the “less than satisfying results” of previous Jurassic Park games, wrote that Universal and Savage “are hoping to buck that trend” with Jurassic Park: Survival. He further stated: “Very few movie games end up being successful, perhaps because they try to emulate an experience the player has likely already had”. Speaking of the original trilogy, there have also been screenshots showing the iconic rotating theatre from the first Jurassic Park movie, with Mr DNA giving his presentation on modern dino creation from Survival. Honestly, this looks like it’s shaping up to be a fan’s dream, and we can’t wait for more locations to be announced in the future.

Jurassic Park Survival was announced by Saber Interactive and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. We don’t have a confirmed release date yet, but given the lack of news at major gaming events including Summer Game Fest and Gamescom, it’s likely going to arrive in 2025 at the earliest.
